** Should be considered cat correctable **   An ALPHA cat will prevent him from further interest in the cat.

12/16/18  Sam was in another foster home and came to me due to surgery of the foster mom.  Sam is a happy, curious almost 3 year old boy greyhound who likes to run in the yard.

He is a cuddly boy, loves to sit on your lap and get a hug, for hours at a time.  My dogs don’t get on the furniture, but Sam knows how great a couch can be and would love to share a couch with you.  His favorite part of the day is breakfast and dinner and he jumps for joy when his bowl is being filled.  I will know more after he’s been here a while longer.

Sam is a young, healthy male who is learning how to be retired.  He is attentive to anyone in the house.  Sam enjoys being petted, talked with, and hugged. He will make a perfect couch companion.  He is learning to stay out of the kitchen and to lay down while we eat.

Sam discovered toys and loves to run in the yard with his squeaky toy, squeaking with every step.  He loves the thought of eating and leaps and jumps and twists and turns when it’s time to eat.  We are working on this and seeing progress.

Sam thinks he should be on the furniture, but responds very well to correction.  I was gone for about 90 minutes today, I muzzled all the dogs when I left.  No damage and no sounds of separation anxiety when I returned.

I’ll be gone longer soon, and we'll see how it goes.

1/16/19  Sam is learning his house manners.  He discovered counter surfing, but responded very well to correction.  Now, he just puts his nose up on the counter instead of his feet.

He is still thrilled at breakfast and dinner time. We are working on settling him down at meal time, and he is making slow progress.  But he is so joyful it is difficult to not laugh at his joy.

Sam sleeps all night on the dog bed and waits to go out until we are ready to go downstairs.  He’s had no accidents in the house.  Sam likes to play with other dogs.  He runs in the house with his toys and encourages other dogs to play too.  It is great fun to watch.

I think Sam would do best in a house with another playful dog.  He has been left in the house for 4 hours, muzzled and there was no sign of a problem while we were gone.
